New York Gypsies

After a three-day drive up the east coast with a semi "sedated" cat, we have finally arrived in NY in the quaint town of Nyack, where I spent part of my childhood.  Although this is not our final destination, we have begun family routines to keep everyone (e.g. the kids) engaged and the parents sane.

G has happily started a weekly gymnastics summer program to help condition her body for the 85 inches of snow a year we expect to receive in the "New York Yukon"; a location about 30 miles away from the Canadian border.  Thanks, Uncle Mac, for your a propos phrase.  I'll need to revisit the picture of my Gardenia bush, which I took this past April when we are snowed in and the outside temperatures are below zero.  Moving on, Waldo purchased new wheels to get to/from work once he starts to work again (i.e. after his 3 month vacation).  Toddler S and I are just enjoying a milder summer compared to what we left back in Florida.  We have also started a Sesame Street like learning theme.  Instead of learning a "number of the day", we are learning about a "word of the day." In tribute to Waldo's Italian ancestry and the thriving population here, we have chosen the word "Pasta Fagioli." How could you not love the intonations?
